Needless to say, this review may contain some story and gameplay SPOILERS and some GRUESOME IMAGES. So, let’s take a look at “Resident Evil”. Yes, the PS2 had the better line-up of horror games out of the two but I always felt curious about this game. I may have played it briefly at a friend’s house but, due to console wars exclusivity BS, this game only got a Gamecube release in 2002. But, honestly, you’re probably better off getting the modern HD remaster if you’re new to this game and want to play it on more modern tech.Īnyway, as you can probably guess, this was a game I missed out on when I was a teenager. For the more tech-savvy, a certain well-known cetacean might also spring to mind too. I bought two because the first one was broken/scratched – so, caveat emptor!) and will also work on the Nintendo Wii if you have the right controller/memory card ( although there is also apparently a dedicated port for this console too).

Surprisingly though, second-hand copies of the original Gamecube game are still available online at a reasonably sensible price ( about £7-12 at the time of writing. Woo hoo! It’s only taken nineteen years, but I have finally got round to playing the remake of “Resident Evil” 🙂 Although the easiest way to play this remake these days is via one of the more recent HD remasters that are available on almost every platform, I decided to go for the original 2002 Gamecube version.
